programs
The Morgan State University Prince George’s County Alumni Chapter has a variety of different ways members can be involved. Below take a moment to see all of our amazing programming.
annual freshmen meet and greet
MSU PGCAC continues to service Morgan students by hosting the Annual Freshman Meet and Greet which supported 80 students in 2022. During our event, students and parents have a chance to ask questions - related to class enrollment, financial aid, scholarship opportunities, and school/social life balance – to a panel of current and past Morgan students who provided great personal experiences and recommendations on being a successful student at Morgan.
membership
MSU PGCAC welcomes all alumni and associates with the interest of advancing the welfare and best interest of the University, pouring into promising high-school students who wish to attend Morgan. In 2019, the chapter ended the fiscal year with approximately 40 members.
As of December 2023, we expanded our membership to 110 members. This is a direct correlation between our outstanding and innovative ways. We utilize social media and our community of entrepreneurs to promote the chapter on a larger scale. In addition, our community efforts and partnerships with local non-profit organizations directly serve the Prince George County community.
outreach & community service
As a chapter we participate in a number of community service events as a chapter including :
the Emmanuel Food Bank to assist with monthly food distribution for families in need within the Prince George’s County community,
the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program where the chapter provided Christmas gifts for two siblings, and
the United Communities Against Poverty/ Shepred’s Cove where the chapter provided meals for community members facing poverty.
and other outreach and community service events within Prince George’s County.
DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance
The Washington, D.C. Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community-based organization that consists of Historically Black Colleges & Universities’ Alumni chapters in the Washington, DC Metro area. The MSU PGCAC continues to be a part of the DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance community.
This collaboration opportunity provides an avenue to network with other HBCU alumni in the DC Metro Area as well as support community events such as the annual HBCU 5K, Black Tie event, and the Wizards HBCU Night. The profit sharing proceeds from these events goes back into the MSU PGCAC for educational endeavors.
